Funding to Individuals
Description: This bank describes personal information collected in support of project applications for funding assistance to individuals under Venture Capital, Business Development Program and Women in Business Initiative. The personal information includes: full name, home and work addresses, home and work telephone and fax numbers, applicants' work titles, e-mail address, ownership portions, language preferences, résumés, professional references, signatures and personal net worth, personal credit checks, personal income tax return, personal bank account number, financial institution, date of birth and supporting documentation.
Class of Individuals: Individuals submitting applications for funding assistance under the relevant ACOA programs.
Purpose: This information is used for assessments, recommendations and implementations undertaken by department officials in relation to the relevant ACOA Programs.
Consistent Uses: All projects approved by ACOA since 1995 are published on the Agency's website. Some personal information, with the consent of the individual, may be used to write project success stories for publishing.
Retention and Disposal Standards: The retention period for the project files is eight years after the file is closed; they are subsequently destroyed.
