The mandate of Canada Economic Development for the Regions of Quebec is to promote the economic development of the regions of Quebec, paying special attention to those experiencing slow economic growth and inadequate employment, with a view to the enhancement of prosperity and employment in the long term.
CED's priorities
Continue the economic diversification of regions and communities posting slow economic growth, strengthen the performance of innovative, competitive SMEs in key sectors, implement the Departmental Action Plan with regard to the report of the Independent Blue Ribbon Panel on effective program delivery, and continue improving management of expenditures, results and risk.

Policy, representation and co-operation
Foster the development and implementation of policies, programs and initiatives which reflect national priorities
and the realities of Quebec's regions; and strengthen the coherence and value added of federal action with respect to regional
development, and co-operation with the Government of Quebec and other development agents.
