Celebration and Commemoration Program
Description:The Celebration and Commemoration Program is a theme-based, integrated and dynamic approach to celebrating and commemorating Canada and Canadians. The Program provides continuity and consistency across the diverse celebratory and commemorative activities initiated by federal partners and other levels of government every year. The Program provides financial assistance for celebratory or commemorative activities and includes two components: 1- Celebrate Canada! and 2- Commemorate Canada!. Other than financial assistance, activities under the Celebrate Canada component include the Poster Challenge and the Canada Youth Awards. The Canada Day Poster Challenge invites young Canadians to design a theme-based poster that illustrates their pride in Canada. The Canada Day Youth Award recognizes young Canadians, who have made an exceptional contribution to their community or country.
