Responsibilities

The role of PSP Investments isto invest the net contributions received after April 1st, 2000 from the pension plans of the Public Service, the Canadian Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Capital Markets. PSP Investments has also recently been given the mandate to manage the employer and employee contributions made after March 1st, 2007 to the Reserve Force Pension Plan. PSP Investments operates at arm's length from the federal government. Its statutory objectives are to manage the funds entrusted to it in the best interests of the contributors and the beneficiaries of the plans and to maximize investment returns without undue risk of loss.
