The Asset Allocation Strategies and Research Department defines and measures investment opportunities according to indicators such as demographics, globalization, natural resources and market liquidity. This department also studies and monitors the general state of affairs of the global economic and geopolitical arenas in order to formulate investment recommendations according to emerging trends.
The Communications and Government Relations Department develops the internal/corporate communications to promote the growth and ensure an efficient flow of information within the organization. It maintains ongoing external communications strategies and monitors the work of Parliament. This department is also providing a service for Access to Information and Privacy in compliance with the Acts.
The Finance and Operations office oversees the Finance and Control, Risk Management, Information Technology, Taxation, Treasury, Investment Operations and Compliance departments. The office provides all financial reporting related to PSP's activities, ensures that appropriate risk policies are in place and that all risks are properly measured and reported. It ensures the proper functioning and development of information technology systems, and offers taxation optimization to various investment groups.
The Human Resources Department focuses on providing direction, strategic orientation and human resources leadership to the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of integrated human resources strategies. This department works closely with people leaders at attracting, retaining and developing talent in order to meet current and future needs of the organization. It also deals with issues and initiatives related to people, such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, succession planning, learning, wellness, benefits and pension.
The Department of Infrastructure Investments is responsible for Investing in and managing the portfolio of infrastructure assets consisting of long-term capital facilities such as highways, bridges, airports, ports, electricity/gas transmission systems and water and energy distribution on all five continents.
The Legal Services Department provides legal advice, support and assistance to members and officers of all service areas within the organization. It contributes to the delivery of all the strategies and objectives arising from the above priorities and represents the organization in all legal proceedings.
The Office of the President and CEO is responsible for the development and implementation of high-level strategies, makes major corporate decisions, manages the overall operations and resources of the organization, and acts as the main point of communication between the Board of Directors and corporate operations.
The responsibilities of the Private Equity Department is to invest in and manage the portfolio of private equity assets in creating strategic general partner investment relationships worldwide toward completing the acquisition of private and public corporations to generate long term value.
The Department of Public Market Investments develops and executes investment strategies in securities that trade on exchanges such as stocks, futures and options or on over-the-counter markets (i.e., bonds, currencies, swaps and forwards). This department has both beta (i.e. efficiently obtaining market exposure via indexed strategies) and alpha (i.e. adding value beyond its benchmarks) mandates.
The responsibilities of the Real Estate Investments Department is to invest in and manage the portfolio of real estate assets (debt or equity) in joint ventures and real estate funds in office, retail, industrial, residential, seniors housing and hospitality property in countries spread over five continents.
